The city as imagined and conceived by Kingelez reflects a modernist and progressive vision. His transfigurations, not far from his traditional roots (as portrayed by Moké), respond to the concerns of demographic and spatial expansion. By creating a new city or transforming his home village, Kimbembele-ihunga (Kimbeville), the artist unravels the conditions of urban planning of existing cities by imposing a new architectural paradigm. His city presents a dual reflection; the construction of an aesthetic consciousness and its conceptual realization.
